Top Ten Tuesday - Books I Want to Reread

I don't have ANY free time to blog.. but I'll be able to read tomorrow (We celebrate New Year in Israel tomorrow) so look out for reviews in the next week. Anyway, I had to do this post, so here I am.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
1. Harry Potter and.. everything. All the seven books.
I used to read them a lot of times when I was younger, but haven't had a chance to do it in the last
years. I think I haven't read any since the seventh came out in Hebrew. It's really a shame.

Shadow Kiss (Vampire Academy, #3)

2. Vampire Academy series.
I absolutely love this series. It's funny, sad, dramatic and everything. If you haven't read it, do it as     soon as possible! I have to re-read it again. It's worth any second.

Forgotten
3. Forgotten by Cat Patrick
This book is fantastic. It was great in the first time as I'm sure it'll be in the second one.

Anna and the French Kiss4. Anna and The French Kiss
I laughed. I cried. I smirked. I loved it! Amazing book, I want to read it again and to feel everything
in the second time! (I hope review will be soon)

The Truth about Forever5. The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen
I've already re-read it. A day after the first reading.. and maybe one more time. It's one of my
favorites! I can't forget it. (I try, so I'll be surprised all over again.)

Before I Fall

6. Before I fall by Lauren Olivers
I've read it a while ago and I really want to
    re-read it.

The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1)
7. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
    How can this one not be in my list? I need to collect all the books from my friends and to re-read them. It'll not be easy, every friend gave the book to someone else! That's what called spreading the love (;

The Host

8. The Host by Stephenie Meyer
Can't forget how much I loved the book when I've read it. I need to do it again.

White Cat (Curse Workers, #1)9. White Cat by Holly Black
This one is going to come out in Hebrew in the next months.. Can't wait to read it again! It was excellent.

Flame of Surrender10. Flame of Surrender by Rhiannon Paille
Original fantasy book. I need to order it so I have the "real" book the next time I want to read
      something really good!

Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #1)

11. Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater

I listened to the audiobook and liked it, but I still want to read the book.
I'm not lucky enough, everytime I go to the library, it's already borrow.

Oops, 11? Well, I might have more!
What do you thing about my list? Any book you'd like to recommend on based these book?
I'd love to hear about yours!

Review: The Memory Keeper's Daughter by Kim Edwards

The Memory Keeper's Daughter
I heard about The Memory Keeper's Daughter for a long time but I haven't had the chance to read it until last Saturday. I expected a powerful book but this one was above all my expectations.

During the book, we learn about series of events that followed one decision; one person's decision. Doctor David Henry delivers his twins in a stormy night; the boy comes out first and later the sick daughter. His critical decision- sending his daughter to an institution, in order to prevent his wife's sorrow- is the beginning of a lifetime that contains lies and secrets, longings and regrets.

Caroline is the nurse, she is the one to take the newborn to an institution only to discover the horrible place she has to leave her in. She listens to her heart, keeping the baby until she decides to raise her on her own.

The Memory Keeper's Daughter left me with tears in my eyes while reading about all the people's lives it includes. The plot tells us about two different places, two different families; the first is Doctor Henry and his wife's, the second is Caroline and the baby's. The plot is full of hidden and seen themes about personal and social morals, about humanity and deeds people do when they're under so much pressure. Allegedly, we know what's right and what's wrong. We can easily blame the bad person in the story. However, even for him, you can develop pity and identification.

"The road to tell is paved with good intentions" symbolizes the morals the book talks about. David's intentions, which were explained in detail, can be understood in different ways. Nothing is only white nor only black.

I sank into this book for a long Saturday, read non-stop and hoped it'll stay great until the last moment. The amazing writing, the direct confrontation with the hard subject, and the variety of characters that were characterized and developed really well, made it the masterpiece it is. I can't not to recommend on it!

*I translated my Hebrew review. I hope I don't have mistakes.

I'd love to know what you think about the book. Tell me in the comments.

Flame of Surrender by Rhiannon Paille

Flame of Surrender is due to come out at November 1st, 2011.

Look at this cover. I think it's one of the best covers I've ever seen. It's so beautiful, and Kaliel can be seen perfectly like she is in the whole book. If I saw this in a bookstore, I'd probably buy it right away.

Flame of Surrender is one of the most original books I've read recently. I mean, it takes a lot to build a whole plot with unique world like that. And I loved it; the places, their rituals and holidays, the way they act and talk. Their rules happened to be the most important part of the story; Kaliel and Krishani have to face them. Each is destined to his/her own duty, whether he/she is willing to accept it or not.

The writing is beautiful. I seem to forget myself as I read, sinking deeper into the story; into the other world. Places I had a hard time to remember became familiar as I kept reading, characters and history as well. The author isn't missing anything, every story is full of details and descriptions. Nothing is forgotten.

I loved the difficulties in the story, the complex. I loved the fact that I wasn't sure who's to love and who's to hate. As I kept reading this book and hoped that everything will turn out OK, I could relate to both Krishani and Kaliel. These both points of view were great.

Sometimes it felt like time has passed too quickly, long periods has gone without telling about them. I felt like I was missing something, like the "little" moments which needed to be in the story, weren't. Time wasn't consistent.

More than once, I felt lost. It happened more in the beginning, but even later I found myself not-understanding what the characters talk about. I think if there were more explanations about the little things that are found in the other world, it'd be better.

It took me so long to read it, but I loved the book. The feelings and the thoughts which were described were wonderful. Kaliel and Krishani's story was amazing and I can't wait to get the next book and to see what happens!

PS. I might have an ebook copy of the book, but I'm going to get a real copy as soon as it comes out.
